Renewing a PERC card

You should receive your PERC renewal notice through email approximately 90 days prior to the expiration date of your PERC. Alternately, you may want to check the renewal date on your license using the state's online license lookup tool. At the time of this writing the tool appears to be in a state of update and the PERC license isn't listed as an option. You may need to use the old-fashioned legacy lookup tool.

You may renew the card online using the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation's Online Renewal tool. You can pay the $45 renewal fee with a credit card.

Your new PERC card will be valid for the next three years.

Renewing a Tan Card

Firearm/Tan cards also expire every three years. However, these cards are issued by the state at the request of your employer and thus it is your employer who will likely ensure the renewal of the card.
