The Housing Choice Voucher Program is for families, elderly, handicapped or disabled. Those applying for Housing Choice Vouchers must be very low income.

The Public Housing Association of Rhode Island (PHARI) and Rhode Island Housing are pleased to announce the opening of the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) Centralized Wait List Portal.
Applicants will be able to apply to the HCVP waiting list(s) for any and all of the participating housing authorities listed below using a single electronic application:
• Bristol
• Central Falls
• Coventry
• Cumberland
• East Greenwich
• East Providence
• Johnston
• Lincoln
• Newport
• North Providence
• Pawtucket
• Portsmouth
• Rhode Island Housing
• Smithfield
• South Kingstown
• Warren
• Warwick
• Woonsocket
Applications must be completed and submitted electronically through the Centralized Wait List online application portal, accessible at www.waitlistcentralri.com . The application portal will be available beginning Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 12:01 a.m., and will remain open indefinitely.
Rhode Island Housing’s electronic application portal is the sole method of submitting an application. Applications that are mailed, faxed, e-mailed, or hand delivered will not be processed. Applicants requiring assistance completing an application may contact Rhode Island Housing at 844-459-3600 or via email at [email protected]. To request a reasonable
accommodation in order to complete an application, please call 401-457-1288. Applicants may also contact Rhode Island housing via TTY at 401-450-1394.
Computer terminals and staff assistance will be made available to applicants at participating community organizations. The hours and locations of such organizations will be available on the Rhode Island Housing website (www.rihousing.com) beginning December 1, 2017.
To be determined “conditionally eligible” and placed on one or more waiting lists, applicants must fall within each agency’s maximum annual income limits for their household size. Conditionally eligible applicants will be placed on the applicable waiting lists based on the date and time that they apply and any selection preferences established by each housing authority. More information on both income limits and selection preferences is available at both www.waitlistcentralri.com and www.rihousing.com.
Existing applicants who applied to the Rhode Island Housing and/or Providence Housing Authority HCVP waiting lists in November 2016 may submit an application to the other participating housing authorities listed above using their existing account at www.waitlistcentralri.com. However, do not submit a new application to Rhode Island Housing or Providence Housing Authority; duplicate applications will be automatically rejected. Existing applicants to any of the other participating housing authorities will receive notification by mail to create an account at www.waitlistcentralri.com and may apply to other participating agencies. For assistance creating an account please contact Rhode Island Housing at the contact information directly above.
PHARI, Rhode Island Housing, and all participating Housing Authorities will not on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, creed, nationality or ethnic origin, age, family or marital status, sexual orientation, handicap or disability, deny any family or individual the opportunity to apply for, or receive assistance under the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
